The Second GNASHBBL

F.All Cup II — Rules

A two-stage Round Robin then Knock-Out event, open to all coaches and all teams. Each coach may enter only one team. The holder of the previous Cup is invited to enter with a Tier 3 team.

All rules and races are in effect from Warhammer Blood Bowl — The Official Rulebook, Season Edition (2025), FAQ and editor's notes up to May 2026, Re-Tiering, plus any NAF-recommended FAQ not covered by those rules, including Teams of Legend.

Format

The aim is a final in the first week of December, with semi-finals in the two calendar weeks before that, quarter-finals in the two weeks before those, and a Round Robin of random draws in the weeks leading up. Depending on how many coaches sign up, there may be one or more preliminary rounds to reach 16 or 8 teams, possibly with "play-in" style wild-card teams, or even a World-Cup-style group stage if numbers are large.

Teams knocked out of the Cup have opportunities to play Dungeon Bowl for the prestigious F.All Plate. The competition follows a league structure rather than resurrection, with some tweaks to keep snowballs from growing.

Team building

Coaches each start with 1,150,000 gp to build a new team. You don't have to spend it all — any remainder stays in your treasury for later. Each team also receives a pot of SPP to distribute according to its race's tier.

Dedicated Fans

Teams start with a Dedicated Fans characteristic of 1, at no cost and never counted into CTV. This may be increased by 1 for each 5,000 gp spent — up to 3 extra, for a maximum of 4 — only before Game 1 (BB2025 team drafting; the source doc's "10,000/p.91" predates this).

Starting SPP

Awarded SPP may be distributed before Game 1, to a maximum of 6 SPP per player. They can be spent immediately to skill up players, or held for the future. Starting SPP by tier:

The one secondary-skill exception

One player in each new team may take a single Secondary skill. This costs 12 of the team's starting SPP — even though that player uses only 10 — so it forfeits 2 SPP and one other player's primary. Any player skilled up before Match 1 has their value increased accordingly for CTV.

Re-drafted teams are not allowed in this competition.

Tiers

Races are split into four tiers. The official team-tier reference is published by Games Workshop: Blood Bowl Team Tiers (PDF).

The Re-Set

Once, during the Round Robin stage, any team may choose to Re-Set — travelling back in time to appear for their next Round Robin match exactly as they were in Week 1, Round 1. All SPP, skill-ups and gold gained since are lost and never retrieved; team building then continues from that point.

Stars & inducements

Teams may induce Stars, GNASH Mercs and GNASH Stars per the table below. See the Star Players and Mercenaries pages for stats, costs and rules. If two opposing teams hire the same star for their match, neither may play it — there is no distant-cousin rule. All rulebook inducements are also allowed.

Banned mega-stars

These stars all count as Mega-Stars in the F.All Cup and may not play:

Casualties

Whenever a player's armour is broken and the injury dice roll 10+, record the SPP for the casualty as normal and roll a D16, but apply these results in place of the rulebook's:

D16Result
1–10Badly Hurt.
11–14Injured per Lasting Injury (D6). Takes no further part in this match, but is available for the next fixture.
15–16Injured per Lasting Injury (D6) and MNG. This will activate Raising the Dead for teams with that rule.

Matches, forfeits & CTV

Matches must be played in the allotted date window. In the knock-out stage, failure results in a "forfeit result" at the discretion of The Commissioner (whose decision is final): a win awarded to one coach who progresses, or a draw awarded to both, who are then eliminated. In extreme circumstances, coaches may apply in advance of the league-week end for added days. CTV must be openly declared to your opponent no less than 24 hours before kick-off.

Overtime (Knock-Out phase)

If scores are level at the end of normal time (Turn 16), the match goes to overtime. Roll a D6 to decide who chooses to kick or receive, then play two halves of four turns each. Re-rolls remaining at the end of normal time carry over; teams do not receive fresh re-roll allocations unless awarded by the Kick-Off table, and a Master Chef may not steal or invoke fresh re-rolls in extra time. If still tied, resolve with a field-goal shoot-out ("Penalties", Rulebook p.83).

Entry & the draw

Entry is £2 per coach (PayPal Friends & Family to gnashbbl@gmail.com). There are no competition dice gifts, but a glittering prize awaits the champion and runner-up. Commemorative F.All Cup II dice and stickers will be available to purchase from reputable vendors. The random draw for the first round is broadcast Sunday 30 August 2026, with each subsequent round drawn at the official end of the previous one.
